About this artwork
This rainforest river meets the ocean in a cacophony of ancient rhythms. These pure waters are coloured with dark tannins of the dense decaying matter leaching from the ancient biomes forest floor, this work records the moment when these dark rivers meet the Southern Ocean on Tasmania's wild west coast, a region that is under direct threat of being destroyed by commercial interests and climate change. This work formed in the shape of the "red cross" signifies the emergency, the plight of this fragile wilderness and its life-giving frequency as it faces an untimely death through global warming and environmental degradation.
