This artwork by Arnvid Aakre, are partly based upon his high regards for the American artist Larry Poons who stretch out his canvas all around his studio. When his outstretched canvas is painted, Poons just cut the large canvas into singular paintings.

Aakre's artwork The Long Painting is originally seven digital paintings, each a short story in a book. What Aakre do is reversing what Poons does. He paints his digital paintings, one by one, and then stitch them together.

As the individual digital paintings melt together, a novel appears.

This novel is based upon images and not words. Arnvid Aakre describes this artwork as the silver screen's memory of a fragment from an old movie.
