The photograph was taken 2012 in Lapland, Finland. It was far below subzero temperatures on a clear winter evening. Blue moment is always been something that holds a magical quality to me, a division line between day and night. The momentary gradients of sapphire blue covers the sky as the first stars appear on their wake.

The perspective distortion the wide angle creates adds to the composition, for it makes the trees seemingly lean and tower towards the sky, especially the large one in the foreground, adding to the majestic overall feeling of the image.
