Peter Saville was born in Manchester. In 1979, as a founder of Factory Records, the legendary independent label, he notably produced a series of iconic album covers for the groups Joy Division and New Order. Through the medium of design and art direction, he has created seminal work in music, culture and fashion.

The Peter Saville Show took place at the Design Museum London, 2003 touring to Tokyo and Manchester. Peter Saville Estate was at the Migros Museum Zurich, 2005. In 2011 key archival works were also featured in Postmodernism: Style and Subversion at the V&A Museum London and also in their show British Design: Innovation in the Modern Age.

Peter Saville collaborates with Paul Stolper Gallery London on a series of editions.

Available monographs include Designed by Peter Saville published by Frieze, 2003 and Peter Saville Estate published by J.R.P Ringier, 2007.

Saville has three D&AD Silver awards, is a Royal Designer for Industry and won the London Design Medal in 2013. In 2020 he received the honour of Commander of the Order of the British Empire (CBE) in recognition of the positive impact of his work.
