Introduction

Since graduating from the University of Southern California in 2007, Los Angeles based artist Andrew Thomas Huang has developed a sophisticated practice combining diverse media with emphasis on video and film. His career in the visual arts has unfolded through numerous collaborations which incorporate contemporary dance, drama, film and puppetry. Huang has worked with notable artists, designers and musicians including: the Icelandic artist-musician Bjork, New York-based fashion collective threeASFOUR, flex dancers Bones the Machine, Brixx and Slicc, and artist-choreographer Jason Akira Somma. He has presented multi-sensory installations in exhibitions including at Mana Contemporary BSMT: Miami Art Week, Miami, US, 2017; Gallery MOMO, Cape Town, 2016; Milk Gallery, New York, 2016; Postmasters Gallery, New York, 2016; MoMA PS1, New York, 2015; Barbican Centre, London, 2014; La Gaîté Lyrique, Paris, 2014; Streaming Museum & Times Square Alliance, New York, 2013; Museum of Contemporary Art, Los Angeles, 2012; ZKM Media Museum, Karlsruhe, 2007.
