Sumita Maity is an independent painter from Kolkata, India. She has previously exhibited her paintings at the Jehangir Art Gallery in Mumbai; Visual Art Gallery at the India Habitat Centre, New Delhi; and Art Folio Art Gallery in Chandigarh among other leading art galleries in India. Her paintings also appear in the permanent collections of TATA Steel Art in Industry, Tatanagar; and the Luciano Benetton Collection, Gallerie Delle Prigioni, Italy, among others. She was long-listed for the Ruth Borchard Self Portrait Prize in 2021.
