Blood Head, an artwork by Jonathan Armour, a part of the Skinterface collection, was initiated by experiences that mirrored symptoms of long COVID. Blood Head contemplates physical sensations and anxieties intertwined with the virus. Influenced by Marc Quinn’s Blood Head and its transient qualities, this project began as a collaboration with AI, using archival images to train neural networks. The soundscape, inspired by Diamanda Galas’s Plague Mass, complements the theme with a powerful auditory element, highlighting the protest against stigma in her performance.
